The club has donated £500 to the Friends of Charing Cross Hospital Charity to help out during the Covid-19 crisis.
Charing Cross is our local hospital and has admitted a number of COVID-19 patients, with numbers continuing to grow. Like other medical facilities, they are facing unprecedented challenges and one way they have found to help is by converting their shop, which has been forced to close due to Covid-19 restrictions, to a distribution centre for donations (primarily food and hand cream). The shop is run by the Friends of Charing Cross Hospital Charity, and they are now giving away their existing stock free to NHS workers in the hospital.
They are providing free refreshments for staff and aim to continue for as long as necessary. Donations have enabled them to provide equipment to the onsite nursery in support of key workers children. But they need to raise more awareness and funding at this unprecedented time.
If you are able to help in any way, here are some of the things they’d be grateful for…

The annual Youth Section Awards Day has been moved to Sunday 29th March 2020, two weeks before the Easter weekend period.
The change from the original date of 5th April is to enable more players, parents/guardians and volunteer coaches to attend. Last season many people were already away on their holidays following the end of the school term.
“I hope that we will have a large majority of all age group players and coaches being able to attend this seasons awards” says youth chairman Terry Alleyne. “It’s a very positive day for the club, player and parents, and a great opportunity to meet other club members and officials.”
We hope all our youth players and their families had a wonderful Christmas and New Year. But now that the festivities are over, it’s time to get your boots out and head back to Hurlingham Park for the first youth training session of 2020.
Training resumes on Sunday 5th January. Usual time, usual place. (10am – 12pm at Hurlingham Park). The shop will be there as usual for any items of kit you may still need.
If you haven’t joined yet, there’s still time. Youth membership will remain open until 31st January. If you are experiencing any difficulties with the online registration system, please come and ask us on Sunday morning and we’ll be happy to help.
We look forward to seeing everyone raring to go on Sunday!
To mark the beginning of an exciting new season, we are holding our annual Welcome / Welcome Back Barbeque on Sunday 22nd September.

The festivities start after training, at around 12.00 noon and all food and refreshments, including wine and beer are FREE. This is a great opportunity for a get-together for new and returning members and for all those involved with the youth section to have get to know each other, so come on down to Hurlingham Park – we look forward to seeing you!
