Ealing Festival 0 Hammers 0
Last Saturday our A&B Teams played at the Ealing Festival, against very strong competition including London Welsh, London Irish, Wasps, Ealing, Bank of England and Teddington. Being our first competitive outing of the season (unlike most other teams apparently) we competed extremely well in both Pools, however, we lost a couple of tight matches by one try, sadly resulting in neither team progressing to the Quarter Finals.
On a positive note, there were some fantastic individual performances, and the team performances got better and better as each game went by. We also gained a lot of insight as to what we need to concentrate on at training, namely focussed tagging, running forwards and keeping our line, as well as continuing to focus on the basic skills starting back at training a week on Sunday.
For all of you who were kind enough to make such a great effort in being there, you may find an action shot of your little one at:
Click through selecting Ealing Festival, October, u8 and you will find the galleries - these can be purchased on line if desired!
Again, thank you to everyone for making such an effort – we had 24 children there in the end, and on numerous occasions leant Bank of England at least half a team (and seemed to end up scoring all their trys too).
