Ladies Tour Edinburgh 2010

We must have been quite the sight at London Kings Cross at 11am on Good Friday dressed as sheep, highland cows, leprechauns and lions… the Home Nations Tour had begun.  Stella, our most seasoned player was quick to stamp her authority as tour judge and we were off!

Friday saw us enjoy a colourful train ride to Edinburgh and then straight into town to wow the locals with our super outfits and love of good times.  We didn’t find many locals but we did find other touring teams, jagerbombs and cheesy music… one missing persons report later and it was Saturday.

After the customary punishments for bad behaviour the night before, we headed into Edinburgh’s historic centre for a treasure hunt that everyone took very seriously (of course) and made friends with lots of men in kilts.  Saturday evening, the Hammer girls were to be found in Edinburgh’s ‘Pink Triangle’ where we set the gay scene on fire with our crazy cool dance moves.

Sunday was the day we had all been looking forward to when we got to play some rugby! We faced a great opposition who were very friendly and genuine good sports, but the Hammers prevailed and won the game 50-5! Feeling on form, tour judge Stella gave out her final judgements and the night ended with energetic drinking games, dancing and singing in one of the towns biggest clubs.

Monday saw a group of rather tired ladies enjoy some bowling in a rainy Scotland before heading back to London…. exhausted but very happy and with some epic stories to tell, we finished where we started… having a pint at Kings Cross Station….!
