June 2011
Chairman's Welcome
I would like to welcome prospective and present members, as well as oppositions to our rugby club for the 2011-2012 season.
We are an open rugby union club for men’s, ladies and youth teams that cater for all types of different social backgrounds, religions and ethnic groups.
The club is looking to build on the success of last season by maintaining its high standard of rugby throughout all sections, with a good social atmosphere.
Our men’s 1st XV will be playing at their highest ever league position in London One North (Level 6) and our 2nd XV will be playing in the Canterbury Shield league, which will provide strong opposition on a weekly basis for both squads.
The 3rd and 4th XV men’s teams play in the Middlesex Merit Table leagues, whereas our Vet’s XV play very friendly social matches, which are great fun for all that take part.
The ladies team maintained their status in the RFUW South East 1 League and are looking to improve on its fourth place finished, from last season.
The very successful youth section of the club is looking to provide a good standard of rugby for many happy boys and girls on Sunday mornings.
We are very appreciative of the support given to us by the Wheatsheaf public house, which has become an integral part of the club’s social life, providing hospitality for our opposition teams.
Finally, I would like you all to enjoy your time at Hammersmith & Fulham RFC this being our thirty fourth season, as we are a very unique club within the London area, who plays with commitment, but also prides itself in having a very good social aspect to the club that is recognised by our opponents and their supporters.
Terry Alleyne
Chairman of Hammersmith & Fulham RFC
